We will continue to offer training and information that includes plenary sessions with nationally recognized keynote speakers, and a broad range of topics included in over 80 breakout sessions on: climate change, emergency response, environmental regulations, fish and wildlife populations, rural issues, energy, military issues, business issues, solid waste, contaminants, contaminated site cleanup, mining and others.
For 2014, we will provide expanded event content on issues surrounding coastal communities, and general emergency response for remote communities. This will include tsunami impacts, marine debris, flooding, earthquakes and coastal erosion.

Rural Alaska Landfill Operator (RALO) Training
March 18-20, 2014 and April 15-17, 2014 in Anchorage, AK
The RALO course is for the designated landfill operator and administrator in a village with a Class III landfill or open dump, and focuses on the duties of the landfill operator, their personal safety, and the safety of the village.

Earn College Course Credit at AFE 2014!
Back by popular demand.
Participate in the 2014 Alaska Forum on the Environment and earn a college credit with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Bristol Bay Campus.. For teachers, Continuing Education Credit is also available. This three to four day course will investigate how the public is engaged in scientific data collection and environmental policy implementation. Participants will meet and interact with environmental scientists, engineers, and policy makers from across Alaska.
Course tuition is being offered at a reduced cost of $75 (normally $168) for registered AFE Participants!

The Alaska Forum on the Environment is proud to announce our 6th Film Festival. We are inviting interested agencies, organizations, as well as individual participants to submit films to be shown at the Film Festival.
AFE must receive your film by January 13th, 2014 in order for it to be reviewed.
