Shoe Recycling - Results are In!

Alaska Forum on the Environment Youth, in cooperation with the Green Star Program, collected over 650 pairs of used athletic shoes (thats 525 pounds!) for recycling. This volunteer effort diverted a substantial amount of material that would otherwise have ended up in an Alaskan landfill. Special thanks to the sponsors of the effort which includes: Lynden Transport, Worldwide Movers, REI, ConocoPhillips, BP, NRC, Dena'ina Convention Center, Skinny Raven, Alaska Youth for Environmental Action, Alaska Geographic and the Alaska Museum at Rasmuson CenterMore Info>>
