The Alaska Forum on the Environment (AFE) is happy to announce that we will again support a showcase of project posters this year!
We invite interested agencies, tribal governments, organizations, researchers, as well as individual participants to submit their projects to be displayed at the AFE. Projects should be current, applicable to the Alaska Forum on the Environment, and may utilize photographs, literature, and summary information (no props please) on a poster board. Suggested topics include: community recycling projects, innovative clean-up projects, invasive species, climate change research, emergency response, environmental regulations, fish and wildlife populations, rural issues, energy, military issues, pollution prevention, and contaminants.
Agencies or organizations submitting a poster session project must provide a written description for the project in the attached submission form. A location will be identified for your poster project to be displayed throughout the week.
AFE must receive your project idea submission by close of business January 21, 2019, in order for it to be reviewed. We will be accepting up to 20 submissions this year. To apply, please complete the online submission form.
The AFE seeks any combination of inventive, incisive, innovative work that complements the event. Submissions should be high-quality projects worthy of placement for public display. All entries must be reviewed for eligibility. Each work is judged solely on its own merits for originality, quality, content, and adherence to conference themes.
Poster projects selected for displays will be notified no later than January 31, 2019.
Poster Display Details and Timeframe
Poster session projects must be dropped off at the Registration desk at the Dena'ina Convention Center, either on Sunday afternoon between 2-4 PM, or on Monday morning between 7–11 AM. Posters will be set up by AFE volunteer staff by Monday afternoon. All poster projects can be displayed through 12 Noon on Thursday, February 14, 2019. All Poster Session submissions must be mounted on provided displays. AFE Staff will be available to attach posters with a device to each display. This should not compromise the quality of the poster. We ask that conference participants not plan floor displays or use facility walls rather than the display panels.
Alaska Forum is not responsible for poster session materials left beyond Friday, February 15 at 12:00 PM. Any materials left beyond that time will likely be recycled or disposed of by building personnel. AFE organizers, employees, sponsors, and participating individuals or organizations cannot assume responsibility for damage to or loss of submitted materials.
